Hot-Meal Statistics for 2008

In Fiscal year 2008, our Hot-Meal program fed 5,005 individuals. We distributed 2,192 lunches, 348 dinners, and 2,465 snacks. Our total distribution to children ages 0-17 was 2,998; adult ages 18-54 was 1,210; and senior citizens 55+ was 797.

Through the assistance of local and national programs, Abundant Rain is able to provide nutritious fresh foods to Americans struggling with hunger, safe and nurturing places for children to have a meal; emergency assistance for disaster victims; as well as a chance at self-sufficiency for adults trying to break the cycle of poverty and hunger. Most of the food we distribute is donated by local grocers, retailers, national food manufactures, growers, individuals and organizations that hold food drives.

We rely heavily on private contributions from individuals, area businesses, churches, civic groups, as well as grants from foundations and corporations.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. Matt 14:19
